Chinese
Garden - Master architects designed this magical
garden. Artisans, practicing craftsmanship perfected centuries
ago, came from China to build it. Portland's Classical Chinese
Garden is the largest urban Suzhou-style garden ever created
beyond China's borders. Here, in the midst of Portland's
urban bustle, you'll discover an infinite number of views that
change with each new vantage point. Rugged rocks and serpentine
walkways are reflected in the lake. A concert of raindrops plays
on a banana leaf. Colors in clouds can be seen from the Tea
House. A tree dares to bloom in the snow. An ever-changing
poetic landscape, the garden will revive your spirit and touch
your soul. Opening late summer 2000. (503) 228.8131

the learning process, a revelation that holds especially true
for those who visit Mount St. Helens. No classroom or university

decades later. The incredible events leading to the eruption and
those following are recounted at world-class interpretive
centers, while stories told by the people who lived, worked and
played around Mount St. Helens propel your imagination beyond
its boundaries. The opportunity to discover the
evolution of our existence awaits you. It's a learning

a kind. Outside, seals, sea lions and Adaa, our newest and
cutest otter, swim and play. Shimmering salmon and
